On January 15, the new electrified railway of Jiangjunmiao-Naomaohu, which Wuhan Railway Electrification Bureau Group built, started operation.
The First train of Jiangjunmiao-Naomaohu Railway
Jiangjunmiao-Naomaohu Railway is located in Hami City and Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture northeast of Xinjiang. It starts from Baishihunan Station of the Hongliuhe-Naomaohu Railway and connects with Jiangjunmiao Station of the Wujiang Railway. The design speed is 120 kilometers per hour, and the total length is about 430 kilometers, including 300 kilometers in Hami City and 130 kilometers in Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture. Wuhan Railway Electrification Bureau Group is responsible for the construction of catenary, power, and traction substations along the whole line, mainly including the erection of 572 kilometers of catenary cables and contact wires and the construction of 11 new 110 kV traction substations.
It is reported that the Jiangjunmiao-Naomaohu Railway is a crucial railway construction project in national infrastructure. It connects the Lanzhou-Xinjiang Railway and the Hami-Ejina Railway, forming a new channel for the northern part of Xinjiang. It is also an essential channel for importing coal from Xinjiang and a collection line for exporting coal chemical products. Its opening to traffic plays a vital role in boosting Xinjiang's economic and social development.
